"Unknown to stranger who may just read A write to one who would believe That he was born to do much more Serving another in time of war Young man of age but wise in years Would fall to battle as father feared For life, his blood of loin so young Would come to rest with Heavens Son His name JJ, best known as Doc Became one more, special of flock Serving country and fellow man By choice landing on foreign land Like angel he'd descend upon From sky by chute, soldier took on Family not his, children whose needs Became his own, he'd intercede School where five of innocence Became 250 as much persistence Would pave the way to educate Before passing, before his mates Soldier where dreams of his became A wish all his where loss births pain But in his passing he too would leave A better place in heart conceived There are but few who would give life Serving mankind in war where strife Becomes too much to just sit back Watching the teli, deaths toll new facts A man once boy would bring much change Though some may view how war estranged A local boy, why would he go If Doc could he'd tell you so Remember one who gave freedom Remember son whose heart would lead him To a place where it's foretold A place where peace not war, GOD holds Pte Jeff 'JJ' Doherty aka Doc Killed in an ambush on June 12th 2008 while serving in Afghanistan Learn more of this young man at http://www.jjsmemorialfund.org/ More than just a boy, a son who served a purpose and became one with the Lord Written by Edwin Flores Poetical Me.. poetrypoem.com "

"My 2010 calendar has brought a smile to my lips all year round, and many of my work mates too as I have it on my office wall. Any chance of another for 2011. "

"Just a thank you for all the support that is on going! I served with Doc in Gib and am currently deployed again. We are receiving your parcels and are extremely grateful for all that you do. We have no return address to thank you in writing so this is our best solution. There are a few lads in my lot receiving your parcels and again are very grateful and would like to send their thanks to all involved as i do. Regards Cpl Pugh Every Man An Emperor"

"We owe all our service men and women past and present a debt of gratitude that we can never repay, except to vow that we will remember their sacrifices forever and a day, that our childrens children and their childrens children will speak their names forever more. Soldeirs like JJ are all Heroes who now walk with all other Heroes that have gone before them, their names have been entered onto that list of Heroes that dates from time immemorial to the end of days. We salute them all as we do their families for the sacrifices they have made."
